Since 1865 Glenfarclas has been owned and managed by just one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas.

Founded by John Grant, a well-known cattle breeder who bought Glenfarclas distillery and Recherlich farm in 1865. The distillery was purchased for £511.19sd.

Now in the hands of the fifth and sixth generation of the Grants family, they remain committed to the original vision; creating the finest quality Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky in the traditional Speyside way.

Glenfarclas, from the Gaelic 'Valley of the Green Grassland', nestles at the foot of Ben Rinnes. The whisky produced is twice distilled in traditional direct fired still and the maturation takes place in the finest European ex-Oloroso sherry oak casks.
